DAN CURCIO / MOONSHINER COLLECTIVE
At the age of 15, before ever picking up a guitar, Dan had a vivid dream of playing music to a big crowd and traveling in a band van. The next day when he woke up, he scrounged together some cash from a summer job, bought a cheap acoustic guitar, and he's been working on his uniquely soulful blend of California inspired rock, folk, Americana, and blues ever since. After moving from his hometown of Sacramento to San Luis Obispo, California for college he started a groove rock band called Still Time and the band recorded several albums, toured nationally, and still has the most sold out shows of any act of their local venue SLO Brew's storied concert history.
After the band decided to part ways in 2011 after a 9 year run, Dan formed an Americana/rock band called Moonshiner Collective and has been performing and releasing albums under that name for the past few years. Dan has performed for thousands at festivals and venues across the country and has shared the stage with many of his musical heroes including Ben Harper, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Jason Mraz, G. Love and the Special Sauce, Ziggy Marley, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Needtobreathe, One Republic, Steel Pulse, UB40, Jackie Greene, David Lindley, Suitcase Junket, Zach Deputy, and many more.
In the summer of 2016, Dan's wife Stephanie gave birth to their first child, a baby girl named Noa. Dan's songs have always been centered around family, optimism, and the power of community. With his new family ready for some adventures, he's converted the old band van into a family friendly camper van and plans to tour as a solo artist in 2017 with his wife and baby on board. Over the past year he has been working on a new approach to his solo performances with foot percussion, and multiple instruments, for a full and dynamic sound to complement his engaging and soulful lyrics and singing.
Dan will be performing at venues, festivals, and house concerts throughout the west coast and beyond in 2017 and is constantly releasing new songs and videos through his own label When It Hits Records. He will continue trying to spread love, positivity, and community through his music and message and hopes that you and your family and friends will be a part of that lively and soulful experience at a concert soon.
