his new Californian/Scandinavian duo consists of Mark Davis and Karoline Hausted, who are best known in the Central Coast for their work in the group Shadowlands. The two songwriters first connected eight years prior to the start of a relationship that would inform Hausted’s subsequent immigration from Denmark.
The initial year of their relationship was spent mostly on opposite sides of the globe; it became a time of writing songs to and with each other, about the longing, the fears and the mysterious nature of love. To Wake You is music and lyrics written from a rare intimacy and authenticity wrapped in acoustic and atmospheric sound. Solo accolades include a Danish Folk Grammy nomination for Karoline and Mark’s You Came Screamingnamed Album of the Decade by the Los Angeles Times.
