13th Annual Zongo Yachting Cup: August 5, 2022

The 13th Annual Zongo Cup was a success!

This sailing race took place with light to moderate air on Saturday, August 5, 2022 from Morro Bay to Avila Beach.

9 entries, all PHRF / monohull, started the race. We had just enough wind at the start to make way, and we did not have to postpone for the alternate start at Point Buchon.

Most boats reported a slow, light wind sail from Morro Bay down to Point Buchon, but once everyone rounded the corner, the breeze filled in nicely and everyone enjoyed a good solid 10 miles of glorious downwind sailing with 10-15 knots of wind on a flat sea with sunshine and 70 degree temperature.
